Broos: There is too much anger in my body

Bafana Bafana conceded a late goal to draw 2-2 against Liberia in the Africa Nations Cup qualifiers.

The home side were awarded a penalty in the 11th minute when Liberia goalkeeper, Tommy Songo, fouled Percy Tau inside the box. Lyle Foster stepped up and put the ball into the back of the net.

On the 22nd minute, the Burnley forward headed home Teboho Mokoena’s corner to make it 2-0.

Midway through the second half, Tonia Tisdell, scored from a free kick to make the score 2-1 before Mohamed Sangare stole the point with a great goal late in the game.

After the match Bafana Bafana coach, Hugo Broos, refused to attend the post-match press conference sending his assistant, Helman Mkhalele, instead. But after a protest from the members of the media, the Belgian, was forced to make a brief appearance.

“First of I have to apologise today because I will not give much comment on this game,” said Broos. “I will not answer your questions, there is a lot of disappointment, too much frustrations and too much anger in my body that if I should say now what I think, it will not be nice.”

“I’ve always been ready in the past to answer your questions, even difficult questions.

“But I hope that you understand that today is very difficult for me to do that. Again, sorry for that. If you saw the game and what happened on the pitch, you can understand my reaction.”

Bafana Bafana are now bottom of Group K with only a point from two matches. Bafana will take on Liberia on Tuesday, in Monrovia for the return leg.
