Dolly: We are on a good run

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Keagan Dolly, believes the current spell of four consecutive wins is the best for Amakhosi this season.

Chiefs take on Stellenbosch, a team that hasn’t lost a match since January. “We started focussing on the game against Stellenbosch [after the international break] because we know that they are a good team,” said Dolly.

“But it was a little bit difficult because we missed a few players who went on national duty. We were trying to focus on our key strengths that we are good at and we know that Stellenbosch is a very tricky team to play against.

“We need to stick to what we are good at; we had a few good games in the past, we are on a good run and so are they. We just need to keep the momentum going and win on Saturday.”

Matches between Chiefs and Stellenbosch always live up to expectations. The first match of the season between the two sides was the MTN8 quarterfinal which ended 4-3 after penalty shootouts in favour of Amakhosi. Chiefs beat Stellenbosch 3-1 in the league in October.

“We are not going to underestimate them; we know that they are a good team with good individuals. They are on a good run and so are we. We have the confidence; we have won four games in a row and that is the first time this season. We just have to keep the focus and the momentum going and not take this game lightly, thinking that it’s going to be easy like the first leg we played against them.”
