Ex-Chiefs coach back in club football

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates coach, Vladimir Vermezovic, is back in professional football after he was appointed as the head coach of Slovenian Prva Liga side, NS Mura.

The 60-year-old left his previous club, Hatta, in May 2021. “After talking with the president, sports director and technical director, I saw myself in the ambitious plans of the club, where the fight for the very top is not excluded,” said Vermozovic.

“Of course, the focus will also be on the development of young footballers, and the result is also very important.

“We will work with the professional staff to bring the love shown by these wonderful fans into the locker room. That will be the first goal.”

The president of Mura, Robert Kuzmic, emphasized that the club decided on an experienced coach after careful consideration.

“As soon as [former coach] Dejan Grabic said goodbye, we said that we would take the time to appoint a new coach.

“In the end, based on our capabilities, we decided on the experienced coach Vladimir Vermezovic , as our views on the direction and goals of the club are common.

“I can say that we got a charismatic and hard-working coach who has a rich resume. I believe that with his experience, he will contribute to the fact that the curve will start to turn upwards.”
