Marumo Gallants were handed a tough draw against Egyptian side, Pyramids FC, in the Caf Confederation Cup quarter-final.
The Limpopo-based side were surprised winners of Group A ahead of Algerian giants, USM Alger and St Eloi Lupopo from DR Congo.
The first leg will be played away in Egypt and the return leg in South Africa. Pyramids FC are currently third place in the Egyptian Premier League and have former Cape Town City player, Fagrie Lakay in their books.
The Egyptian side were runners in the Caf Confederation Cup 2019/20 season when they lost to RS Berkane in the Final.
Should Gallants progress to the semi-final they will face the winner between Rivers United from Nigeria or Young Africans from Tanzania.
For this season’s Final, the Caf executive committee has decided that it will played on a home and away basis.
