Hunt: Maseko needs goals

Supersport United coach Gavin Hunt is impressed with the progressed made by Thapelo Maseko adding that the midfielder needs goals.

Maseko made his professional debut last season in a 1-1 draw against Chippa United and finished the season with nine matches.

And this season he has been one of key players in Hunt’s team winning a man of the award in the 1-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Maseko is a good player and the only thing is lacking in his game is goals,” says Hunt.

“Every game that he has played he had chances [to score]. He scored against Sundowns last time. We are still trying to define his role a little bit because we don’t have the squad.

But we have to move him in areas, he has also played at left back. He will get better as well as other younger ones. [Siphesihle] Ndlovu has also been good for us this season and in the game against Sundowns.

He breaks the game down with his interceptions – he is my type of a player, I really like him.”
