Kekana: There’s a lot to play for

Mamelodi Sundowns player, Grant Kekana, believes his side has a lot to play for before the end of the season.

Sundowns were crowned League champions with seven matches to spare and they are still in the quarter-finals of the Caf Champions League and the Nedbank Cup.

“We played the Caf Champions League match [against Coton Sport] this past weekend and a lot of us who played were did recovery and others were training in preparation for the game on Tuesday against Cape Town City,” the player said.

“At Mamelodi Sundowns we play every game to win, it’s the same as going to the game against Cape Town City on Tuesday, we don’t want to be complacent because there’s still a lot of to play for.

“As much as we won the league, in the league there are records we want to break and standards that we have set for ourselves from the beginning of the season to see if we can achieve them.
Sundowns will host Cape Town City in the DStv Premiership tonight and Kekana says Sundowns is expecting a difficult match.

“Cape Town City is a good team to play against, they will come out guns blazing. They want to reach the target of last season where they managed to finish second. It’s going to be another tough encounter that we will prepare for and give it another goal.

“As we reach the end of the season, for the past few games we’ve been loving the support we are getting. We hope to see more numbers in every game we play at home.”
