Juan Mata has joined Vissel Kobe in the Japanese top-flight league on a free transfer.
The 35-year-old has played for several top clubs in Europe. He began his senior career with Valencia in Spain, where he gained recognition for his performances.
Afterward, he moved to Chelsea in the Premier League in 2011 where he enjoyed considerable success. He won the UEFA Champions League with the club in the 2011-2012 season. He also won the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League during his time with the Blues.
Mata later transferred to Manchester United in January 2014 and became a valuable member of the squad winning the FA Cup and UEFA Europa League with the Red Devils.
He has represented the Spanish national team and was part of the squad that won the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 UEFA European Championship.
Before joining Vissel Kobe, Mata had a brief spell with Galatasaray in Turkey, where he helped the team win the Turkish title.
Now, at 35 years old, Juan Mata has embarked on a new chapter in his career by joining Vissel Kobe in Japan.
