Mulomowandau Mathoho will leave Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the season, the club confirmed in an official statement.
The 33-year-old joined Amakhosi at the beginning of the 2012/13 season from Bloemfontein Celtic and helped the club win the league and Nedbank Cup in his first season.
Mathoho spent eleven seasons in Naturena and featured in 267 matches scoring 22 goals.
“We are happy that the man from Tshiombo in Limpopo realised his dream of donning the Gold & Black jersey of the team he supported from childhood. It’s not everyone who realises this dream,” said Kaizer Chiefs Chairman, Dr Kaizer Motaung.
“Erick now joins our long list of Kaizer Chiefs legends who served the Club and its supporters with aplomb over the last 53 years and he will always be welcomed at the Kaizer Chiefs Village.”
The 33-year-old defender also won the MTN8 and helped Amakhosi reach the 2021 CAF Champions League where they lost to Al Ahly in the final.
Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr said: “Tower’s contribution is well documented and we will miss him in the team. I got to play in the same team with him for two seasons and he has represented his home village and Kaizer Chiefs very well. His family and community can only be proud of him.”
