Pitso Mosimane lost his match as Al Ahli coach after his side suffered a home 4-1 defeat to Al-Okhdood at Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium.
Al Ahli took the lead in the 34th minute before the visitors made it 1-1 on the stroke of half time.
Mosimane made two substitutes early in the second half bringing in Hindi for Al-Zubaidi and Abdurrahman Al-Zahrani for Majrashi. But the visitors made it 2-1 ten into the second half.
Six minutes later, Al-Okhdood made it 3-1 before hitting the final nail in Al-Ahli’s coffin to make the final score 4-1.
Al Ahli have dropped to third spot on the table but despite the defeat, the Jedda-based side stands a good chance of gaining automatic promotion to the Saudi Pro League.
“We got humbled tonight. Unacceptable scoreline especially in front of our fans. No excuses, only apologies. Anyway, the race is still long. Sorry,” Mosimane tweeted after the match.
