Cape Town Spurs bounced back from last week’s 1-1 draw against Hungry Lions to beat Baroka 3-2 in an entertaining Motsepe Foundation Championship match played at Athlone Stadium.
Cape Town Spurs goals came from Therlo Moosa, who netted a brace, before Boitumelo Radiopane scored the third with five minutes remaining on the clock. Shepherd Mongoale and Thuso Mogale were on the scoresheet for the visitors.
The win moves the Cape side on top of the table with 47 points – one point ahead of Polokwane City who played one game less.
At the bottom of the table, Black Leopards beat Magesi 1-0 thanks to a first half goal from Matimu Tshabalala.
Hungry Lions beat University of Pretoria 2-1 to remain in top the four with seven matches remaining in the season.
