Odegaard signs new contract with Arsenal

Martin Odegaard has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The Norwegian international initially joined The Gunners on loan from Real Madrid in January 2021 and has since made a significant impact.

In the 2022/23 season, he was named your club’s Player of the Season, jointly topped the Premier League scoring charts from midfield with 15 goals, and earned a place in the PFA Team of the Year.

He also received nominations for several prestigious awards, including Premier League Player of the Season, Premier League Young Player of the Season, and the FWA Footballer of the Year.

Additionally, he was recognized as the Premier League Player of the Month for November/December 2022.

His journey started early, making his senior debut for Stromsgodset at just 15 years old. The 24-year-old then moved on to Real Madrid, where he became the youngest player to debut for the club at the age of 16 years and 157 days.

With his incredible vision, technical ability, and leadership qualities, Odegaard is undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents in the world of football.

Martin reflected on his great news by saying: “Signing a new contract was a really easy decision for me for lots of reasons. Mainly what we are doing right now as a club is special, and I want to be a part of that.

“I’m really excited for what’s to come here. I’ve found a place where I can be really settled and call my home.

“My story is a bit different maybe, as I moved around different clubs since I was 16. At Arsenal, since the first day, I’ve felt great and this is definitely my home now.
