In their pursuit of a more comfortable lead, Orlando Pirates continued to dominate and were rewarded again 15 minutes before the end of the match. Patrick Maswanganyi capitalized on a brilliant low cross from Deon Hotto, slotting the ball into the net with a first-time shot, extending their lead to 2-0.

Cape Town City attempted to respond, and their efforts led to a shot by Jaedin Rhodes, which required a stretching save from Orlando Pirates’ goalkeeper to keep the scoreline unchanged.
