Riveiro happy with Mabena

Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro says he is happy with having Ndumiso Mabena in his team after the forward re-joined the Buccaneers.

The 35-year-old did not feature in matches against Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City but Riveiro is happy with his progress.

“We try to integrate every player in our process,” the coach said.

“We are talking about experienced players in the league with top quality. We hope everyone will contribute. We always measure contributions with figures in the game such as goals, assists and minute.

But so far, I’m happy with having Mabena with us, he is adding things to group and he is a good human being. He is a good striker.”

Orlando Pirates takes on Golden Arrows at Orlando Stadium this afternoon having lost the last three league matches.

Despite the results, the Spanish coach says he is happy with how his team has been performing.

“We don’t behave depending on the results – right now we are in a bad run, in terms of results but not in terms of performance.

Obviously, we are always looking for excellency and we will never be satisfied 100 percent. It’s difficult to be satisfied after two defeats in a row. We are not thinking everything we are doing is going to help us all the way, sometimes we have to modify some details.”
