Stellenbosch & Chippa United share spoils

Stellenbosch FC and Chippa United played to a 1-1 draw at the Danie Craven Stadium with Junior Mendieta missing a penalty for the home side.

The draw means that, Steve Barker’s side has yet to win a since beating Maritzburg United on 4 October.

After a goalless first half, Junior Mendieta scored from the penalty four minutes into the second half. Azola Matrose levelled matters two minutes later.

With eight minutes left, referee Skhumbuzo Gasa awarded the home a penalty for a handball inside the box. But Junior Mendieta’s shot is saved by Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
