Stellies win thrilling Cape Derby

Stellenbosch came from 2-0 down to beat Cape Town City 3-2 in an entertaining DStv Premiership match at Danie Craven Stadium.

Three minutes before the interval things get worse for Steve Barker’s team when Darwin Gonzalez lobs the ball over Sage Stephens to make the score 2-0. The home side pulls one back on the stroke of halftime through Devin Titus.

Ten minutes into the second half Titus gets his second of the match to bring The Maroons level.

On the 61st Junior Mendieta, who missed the 4-1 loss to Orlando Pirates through suspension, is denied by Daren Keet.

With eight left on the clock, Sinethemba Mngomezulu who came on as a substitute for Mervin Boji, hits the roof the net after a cross from Mendieta.

The win moves Stellies to position 12 on the log.
