Usuthu signs Sundowns youth academy product

Amazulu have announced the signing of former South African Under-17 international, Mswati Mavuso, on a free transfer for the remainder of the current season.

According to the statement released by the club, the 22-year-old midfielder was signed with the view to add depth into the squad.

“I am happy to join Amazulu,” the player said in a statement. “I would like to thank the management for the chance to join the club. Amazulu is a team with a lot of ambition and I’m quite happy to be here.”

Amazulu head coach Romain Folz – who recently extended his contract by three years – added that he is happy with the new addition to his squad.

“We’re happy to have him, he’s going to bring more options for us in the midfield. He’s a young player, who’s good technically and has an impact physically. I think he’s going to gel well with the team,” said Folz.”

The Nelspruit-born is a product of the Mamelodi Sundowns youth academy and has also played for Witbank Spurs, Stellenbosch FC and Mbombela United.

Club defender, Thembela Sikhakhane, has also extended his contract with Usuthu by two more seasons.
