Kaizer Chiefs coach, Arthur Zwane, is cautious about rushing Khama Billiat back from injury.
The Zimbabwean international started the first six matches of the season before suffering a knee injury which ruled him out for five matches.
Billiat returned in October against Chippa United. The 32-year-old suffered a groin injury in the Soweto Derby.
“Mshini [Nkosingiphile Ngcobo] is out for this season, he won’t be available,” said the Chiefs coach.
“Khama started jogging – he is far from returning. Our bio is working on him before he can hand him over to football actions, which is the coaches on the field. Then we’ll take it from there, I will be fighting for his fitness and make sure that he is ready to play. Otherwise, we don’t want to risk and hurt him again.
“Tower [Mulomowandau] just got back fighting to regain his fitness. Cole [Alexandra] is the who is looking close to regaining fitness.
“As I said earlier on, if you look at the number of injured key players this season, that was a big blow for us. We were forced to make too many changes and ended putting players under pressure especially the young ones. I’m also proud at the same that those we gave opportunity, rose to the occasion.”
