Zwane hit with objects after a defeat to Supersport

There were ugly scenes at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace when Kaizer Chiefs coach, Arthur Zwane, was hit with flying objects following Amakhosi’s 1-0 defeat to Supersport United.

Zwane, who took over the reigns at the beginning of the season, finished the season trophyless and failed to qualify for the Caf Champions League.

Gumphani Lungu scored the only goal of the match on the 41st minute ending Amakhosi’s chances of finishing the campaign in third place.

Chances were few and far between in the early stages of the matches and the first real chance feel to Supersport United when Grant Margeman’s left strike was well saved by Brandon Petersen.

On the 36th minute, the Chiefs goalkeeper was forced to make another save and this time Bradley Grobler’s header away for a corner to keep the game scoreless.

Supersport United took the lead four minute before the interval after Petersen failed to clear the ball – the ball fell to the Zambian international who lobbed the ball into the back of the net.

In the second half, Amakhosi tried to claw their way back into the match but failed to penetrate the Supersport United defence.
