Former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper, Rafael Dudamel, is linked to the Venezuela national team job following the departure of Jose Nestor Pekerman.
The 73-year-old Pekerman resigned 14 months after taking over in November 2021.
According to Venezuelan publication, Meridiano, despite several names linked to La Vinotinto, Dudamel is a strong candidate for the hot seat.
The former goalkeeper joined Mamelodi Sundowns during the 2005/06 season under Miguel Angel Cappa and left after making eight appearances.
He coached the Venezuela national team between 2016 and 2020 where he was in charge of 35 matches, which ended in 9 wins, 15 draws and 11 losses.
The 50-year-old is currently without a team after leaving Deportivo Cali in 2022.
