Mahlangu lambasts Sundowns transfer practice

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana player Jabu Mahlangu says PSL is unwatchable due to Mamelodi Sundowns’ power to buy the best players in the country.

Sundowns beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 this past weekend to stretch the lead at top table to 16 points.

“PSL matches are unwatchable because the standard of the League has dropped a lot,” Mahlangu took to Social Media to express his dissatisfaction.

“We spoke and suggested the issue of financial fair play – because of what is happening right now, the national team is dead. Let’s tell the truth without being bias because something must be done.

Look at the match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs – look at the players who were not selected by Sundowns – Lesedi Kapinga, Mosa Lebusa, Rivaldo Coetze – the list of players sitting on the stands is endless.

That is another team of top players sitting on the stands that could be playing for other teams.

All our best players are at one team and they don’t play. I’m happy that some fans are finally speaking about this.

We can’t be having all our top and talented players at one team and not playing. How are we going to improve?

I don’t want to compare but Manchester City did not buy all the top Premier League – yes they are a top team but the English Premiership is still competitive.

Something must be done. Even at Ka bo Yellow [Sundowns] they know that this is destroying South African football. Let us not take it personal because we are talking about football here.”
