Malesela refuses to blame bad luck for defeat

Marumo Gallants coach, Dan Malesela, refuses to blame bad luck following his side’s 3-2 defeat to Golden Arrows in an entertaining DStv Premiership match at Princess Magogo Stadium.

Marumo Gallants opened the scoring through Celimpilo Ngema from the penalty spot before conceding three second half goals from Nqobeko Dlamini, Pule Mmodi and Knox Mutizwa.

Ranga Chivaviro made it 3-2 for the visitors with thirteen minutes remaining but it was a little too late.

“We cannot just bash players because they really fought hard but at the same time we need to win,” Malesela said after the game.

“It doesn’t help to say we are unlucky when we lose. We need to help ourselves in these situations.”

“We started the match well in the first half and gave little away to the opponents. And then we got to the halftime where we discussed with the players that: ‘we are leading now, you must know this team will come on top, but keep it tight keep and solid.

But 23 minutes later we were 3-1 down.”

Gallants remain rooted at the bottom of the table and hosts Orlando Pirates in the next match.
