Al-Wahda head coach, Pitso Mosimane, believes that his side will face Emirates, in the UAE League Cup, first round, second leg without significant pressure.
Al-Wahda won the first leg 3-0 with goals coming from Lucas Pimenta, Christian Guanca and Omar Khribin.
“The 3-0 result in the first leg gives us a slight advantage. I’m not saying we’ve qualified [to the next round], but we have avoided significant pressure, and we will play comfortably at the opponent’s stadium,” said Mosimane.
“I expect that the Emirates team will push to score an early goal to reduce the gap. We need to focus, understand the spaces that the opposing team will create, and show our seriousness and great respect for the opponent and their chances.”
When asked about the team’s mental state regarding the nature of the match, Mosimane replied: “We are entering a new match with a 0-0 scoreline.
“Demonstrating our seriousness and professionalism on the field is a primary requirement, and we also need to continue our progress in cohesion and performance. Therefore, we will spare no effort in this match despite the advantage we hold.”
