South Africa Under-23 coach, David Notoane, has announced a preliminary squad to take on Congo in back-to-back Caf Olympic qualifiers.
The 29-men squad, which has five Stellenbosch FC players, will be trimmed to 23 next week.
“Obviously this squad consists of players who did well in our matches in the earlier qualifying rounds, and those who are doing very well right night now,” Notoane told www.safa.net.
“It is an exciting group of players and the tough job is to now finalise the travelling party after this preliminary selection.”
The first match against the Congolese will be played at Dobsonville Stadium on Thursday, 23 March 2023 and the kick off time is 15h00.
The team will travel to Brazzaville to play the second leg at Massamba-Debat Stadium.
The preliminary squad will be trimmed to 23 players when Notoane announces his final list next week.
