Kaizer Chiefs coach, Arthur Zwane, has opened up about the tough competition between three of his goalkeepers this season.
Bruce Bvuma kept goals for the first three matches of the season against Royal AM, Maritzburg United and Mamelodi Sundowns before he was relegated to the bench.
Next in line was Brandon Petersen who played against Richards Bay and Cape Town City. Itumeleng Khune kept goals for seven consecutive matches. But recently Petersen has been Zwane’s first choice and the Chiefs said he is happy with the healthy competition.
“As a coach you always want to create that competition,” Zwane spoke to journalist after the 1-0 win against Richards Bay.
“I’m happy for Brendan [Petersen] and when Itu was in, he did well and Bruce [Bvuma] did well as well. We are creating a healthy competition which is good for the club.
“We want to do that in all departments knowing very well that it’s going to benefit the club going forward. Even when we experience injuries in the squad, we will still have a balanced squad a that can still perform at the same level.”
