Renard appointed French Women’s Team coach

Former Zambia and Saudi Arabia coach, Herve Renard, has been as the new coach of the French Women’s Team.

The 54-year-old has signed up until August 2024.

The Frenchman coached Saudi Arabia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup where they beat Argentina in the opening match. He stepped down from his position to take charge of the French Women’s team.

“Having been the coach of national team of Saudi Arabia is a great pride for me,” Renard said.

“Since August 2019, I had the chance to be an integral part of the life of this beautiful country. I have seen this team grow alongside me and achieve a fabulous World Cup this fantastic and unforgettable win against Argentina.

“I’m very proud to have been able to show to the world the progress and a good image of the Saudi football. It’s time for me to fly to another horizon but with these memories engraved in me.”
