With less than ten matches remaining before the end of the season, the race for the top goal scorer award is heating up.
Supersport United’s Bradley Grobler and Mamelodi Sundowns’ Peter Shalulile have both scored nine league goals. The Namibian international missed two months of action due to a muscle injury he suffered against Orlando Pirates on 1 October.
The 29-year-old made his return against Chippa United on 10 January and has scored three league goals since then.
Kaizer Chiefs’ Bonfils Bimenyimana started the season like a house on fire scoring six goals in five matches. The 25-year-old has scored a total of seven goals – the same number of goals scored by Chippa United’s Etiosa Ighodaro and Sundowns’ Cassius Mailula.
The rest of the chasing pack are tied on five goals. With nine matches remaining, it remains to be seen who will win the top goalscore award.
